You are required to closely analyse a human services topic of particular interest to you (chosen from several options), thereby enabling you to think deeply about social issues of significance in our communities. It therefore helps develop your understanding of the ways in which policy decisions have impacted and continue to impact on groups in the community. It also continues the process of developing an understanding of and demonstrating research and writing skills.

To do this, first choose ONE option from Group (Column 1 in the Table below) and ONE from Policy Area (Column 2 ) in the Table below. So you might choose, for example, Older people and Health; Refugees and Migrants and Housing, and so on. Students
will be assisted in identifying policies in these areas during the semester.
