Aims

• To demonstrate initiative and creativity in the application of their skills and knowledge to an individual project of appropriate complexity over an extended period of time.
• To develop project management, demonstration and oral presentation skills.
• To develop analytical, design and programming skills further and apply those to an identified problem.

Assessment - mark allocation

The final project mark is calculated from four elements: the proposal, your progress, the final report and a viva or seminar. The following is a breakdown of the marks allocated to each component of the project:

Assignment Deliverables

1. Project Proposal – 1500-3000 words, 12-point Times New Roman font.
2. Final Report – 12000-18000 words (excluding Appendices), 12-point Times New Roman font.

You should discuss this with your supervisor and submit an application to the faculty where necessary.

Your final report (e.g. in the critical review) should include a discussion on any ethical, legal and social issues that arise from your project. If you are unsure how the context of your project then discuss with your supervisor.
