***We will use the image located HERE.. I will refer to this map as the Bowie chain.**

Question 1: Using the Bowie Hotspot map. Measure the distance between the Kodiak -Giancomini seamounts, and the distance between the Giancomini- Welker seamounts.Give this distances in the proper units. (see the scale at the bottom of the map)
Use this distance and the ages given on the map to calculate the average movement of the plate they are sitting on in cm/year. (be careful of units!)
Show all calculations. (8 marks)]

Question 2: Looking at the Bowie map, and the chain of hotspots, what roughly is the direction of movement over time of the plate they are sitting on? (2 marks)

Question 3: Under which seamount in the Bowie chain is the hotspot likely located? (1 mark)

Question 4: Your finger nail grows about 3.5 cm/yr. How does the rate of the plate motion compare to this? (1 mark)

Near by to the Bowie Welker Chain are the Aleutians islands. Please research and answer the questions below.

Question 5: What type of geology has lead to the formation of the Aleutian Islands? Please describe the details briefly (i.e the specific plates or hotspot that are involved in their creation) (3 marks)

Question 6: What type of volcanoes are the Aleutian Islands? (1 mark)

Select one:
a. composite/strato
b. hotspot

Question 7: Approximately how many volcanoes are there in the Aleutian chain? (1 mark)

Select one:

Question 10: Describe 3 factors that go into a planet having an atmosphere (6 marks)

Question 11: If looking down from a satellite picture, (assuming you could see through any water), how would you tell apart a subductionzone from a spreading ridge? (4 marks)

Question 12: If you saw a mountain range on another planet, what could you say about the geology of that planet? (3 marks)

Question 13: Which of the following is responsible for the broad, dark areas of the Moon called maria, as shown in the image?(1 mark)

Select one:
a. flood basalts
b. hot-spot volcanism
c. lahars
d. arc volcanism

Question 14: Identify the FALSE statement. Plate tectonics theory explains why volcanic activity occurs where it does. For example (1 mark)

Select one:
a. the Ring of Fire bordering much of the Pacific Ocean is a long chain of subduction-zone volcanoes.
b. active volcanoes in East Africa, such as Kilimanjaro, are the result of rifting (divergence) in continental crust.
c. rifting above a plume produced flood basalts such as the Columbia River Plateau of Washington and Oregon and the Deccan Plateau of India.
d. the volcanoes of Iceland owe their existence to the mantle plume underlying the convergent plate boundary on which they sit.

I have tried other sites for assignment help but the result that Insta Research has produced outweighs others. Since I am weak at writing and shaping the data logically, I am glad I took help from this site. Thanks to my writer for such a great quality of the assignment in Business.

Oh my god! This writing company has saved me from so many bothering and figured out my problem in the best way possible. I am not fond of reading and when this book review was given to me as part of my coursework, I went into depression. But I must say, my writer came up with an amazing book review covering all the major aspects of the book nicely. I am waiting for other assignments to come so that I would come here again. The place is good and quite reasonable as well which makes it easy for me to manage my budget.
