Project Management

Project managers are supposed to balance the triple constraints. Quality is one major attribute that is used to measure of the project success. The cost optimization and schedule crashing should not comprise the quality of the project. Time and cost has to concentrates on optimizing business benefits such as NPV and ROI as well as the benefit of delivering the project faster (Barker & Cole, 2012). However, the overall quality of the project has to be balanced with stakeholders’ satisfaction. As such, quality serves as a central balancing concept of the project. The organization that does their projects in-house must ensure that they do not compromise quality with the need to save on the cost and to deliver faster to the customers.

The ultimate goal of the project is to satisfy the stakeholder. The satisfaction from stakeholders is met when the project is delivered on time, within the projected budget and with the predetermined quality attributes. Stakeholders’ satisfaction dictates the manner in which the project manager will balance the triple constraint. For example, if the stakeholders are much interested in having the project at the lowest cost possible, the project manager will have to reconsider its schedule and quality goal (Kloppenborg, 2011). On the other hand, if the stakeholders are much interested in the quality of the project, the project manager will have to establish a new time cost balance. In order to prevent changing the project requirements that would affect the project scope, I would ensure that I have considered all the factors prior to the start of the project. I would have miscellaneous allowance for each requirement in order to ensure that the set resources do not fail to accomplish the total requirement of the project.
