While people were starting to lose interest with the advent of television and Radio, things turned around when lifestyles magazines and other genres started spreading wildly. However, if the recent research by the Association of Magazine Media is anything to go by, then it seems the tide is turning once more. The results of the analysis were collaborated by another study by the Media Post based on the Audit Bureau of circulations data over the same period (Mcllory 2011) .To understand the impact of the decline, one has to draw conclusions by searching for the trends across the statistics. The first conclusion from the data analysis reveals that the decline in sales could have been precipitated by the hard economic times. To support this, one can look at the period under survey from June 2001 and June 2011. This is the same period within which many economies were hit by global recession and thus, the purchasing power was greatly reduced hence the 47.5% decline observed by ABC FAS-FAX circulation, (Sass 2011).
