NATURE VERSUS NURTURE Name Course code Date The human brain in God`s perspective; is one of the most complex organs in the body. It undertakes most of the body functions, acting as a control center much as a processor is to a computer. The brain together with the spinal cord links up the entire tissues in the body through the nervous system for the aim of controlling our sensory, cognitive, emotional, physical, and motor abilities. Many psychologists and scientists have tried to explain the working of the brain and its link to spirituality. However, most of these arguments take a humanistic approach and cannot address the complex functionality of this system. The brain however, in a Godly perspective serves both natural and spiritual purposes imperative to humanity existence.[Koh. "BRAIN AND MIND: A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE." (1993).] The Bible informs us that God created us in His image and likeness. This means we have the ability to think, reason, decide, choose, communicate, have personal will, and create relationships just like God. Koh shows that the brain is a complex organ and can perform more powerful functions than the computer systems. The ability to respond to our environment and make choices lies deep in our brains. Therefore, the brain remains the position where God placed the might of human consciousness and functionality.
