The intended module learning outcomes are that on completion of this module students should be able to:

1. Evaluate relevant legal, policy and organisational frameworks that inform safeguarding practice including the role and responsibilities of social workers and allied professionals.

3. Demonstrate knowledge drawn from research, law, inquiry reports, serious case reviews, practice experience and from sociological and psychological perspectives that apply to social work practice with vulnerable people.
4. Recognise the significance of social work values, the ethical dilemmas inherent within social work and the manner in which structural inequality, discrimination and personal life choices may contribute to vulnerability.
