Learning Outcomes

Through classroom-based learning during semester 2, and the educational fieldtrip to the Middle East students will be able to:

• Demonstrate a conceptual and empirical understanding of the role of narratives in conflict
• Critically evaluate the role that narratives play in contributing to conflict or its resolution with application to their experiences on the field trip.
• Develop a capacity to engage with and challenge their preconceptions in order to expand their point of view by gaining meaningful knowledge through experiential education.
  • Contribute to their future employability and personal development through student leadership and reflective practice.
• In addition to a strong academic grounding, OTI aims to provide students with important employability skills such as leadership, communication, critical thinking and fundraising.  Ongoing participation in and commitment to the programme is an important part of the OTI journey.
