Anniben plc is a large manufacturing company based in the UK. It has recent set an objective to increase its sales, and thus its profits, by expanding its sales internationally
– it has not set any particular market for this expansion but wants to diversify its sales to as many countries as possible.
The Sales Director of Anniben plc thinks that a key to this planned expansion is investment is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to show that it is different from other similar manufacturing companies in their sector and that this will be a major advantage to them when selling outside their home market. The Finance Director on the other hand believes that focus on reporting solid and accurate financial reporting of data will assist them to stand out from the others and this will encourage trust in the company and consequently this will boost sales.
The Chairman of the company can see the virtues of the arguments presented by both the Finance and Sales Directors.
