There are three parts to the assignment:

a)    Identify the size and type of industry, the sector(s) in which the industry operates in, whether it competes on a narrow or broad basis, and if any, what the growth strategy is.

b)    Evaluate the key ecological and social responsibility issues facing the industry and the degree to which the issues are being addressed

2)                  Competitive and general environment of your industry [60% weighting]

a) Analyse the internationalisation strategy and/or market strategy pursued by your industry using the Yips model.  

b) Analyse the competitive market environment in which your industry operates using the Porter’s Five Forces model.  

c)    Analyse the PESTEL (political, economic, socio-cultural and demographic, technological, and legal/regulatory) factors influencing the industry’s business environment and identify/ evaluate the rate at which the key factors are changing.

3              Overall presentation (including citation and referencing, grammar

     and punctuation, use of appropriate charts, tables and diagrams).
