Students will have to include the following:

1. 1.      Introduction of the problem the company faced and an outline of the report (10%) 

• Present an overview of the organization you are investigating, which is Amazon. Provide some description of context of the report: e.g. name of the company, company size, location of head-quarters, subsidiaries in which it operates, and anything else which you feel is relevant
• Provide an overview of the particular ‘issue’ which your report will be based (e.g. if you are focusing on motivation, culture and leadership then provide a very high-level overview here)

• Clearly state the aim and objectives of this report

1. 2.      Main body – Discuss and evaluate the challenges the company is facing with links to theory and practice used in the module (30%)

• This is where you present your main account of the problem/issue you wish to discuss

• It should be based on analysis, not intuition (avoid saying, “I feel….”); instead say, “the current literature suggests that motivation is one of the biggest reasons for poor performance at work” (Robinson, 2015, p. 45) – you must back-up what you write with evidence and/or argument. This means you must:

ü  substantiate each point you make

ü  support opinions with specific examples/evidence (e.g. from scholary articles) or by building a logical argument based on previously cited examples/evidence.

• Consider presenting material in the form of diagrams, charts etc. wherever appropriate – it can help reduce word count. However, if you are going to use this, refer to it in the document, but place it in the Appendix.
